Hi World!
Even as a child I was fascinated by what I saw around me: Colors. Flowers. Shapes. Textures. From the minute details in a petal to sky-wide patterns in the clouds.
My mother encouraged my creative impulses by always carrying in her purse a pencil and some paper. When something caught my attention she would suggest I draws it. Beyond drawing, I was intrigued by how things fit and worked together whether it was architecture, furniture or clothes. Many times my parents were surprised by my rearranging our furniture and decorations. And my childhood skills at sewing, crocheting and knitting meant my dolls enjoyed personally designed and created clothes. I even had my first solo art show at age eleven at school featuring drawings and paintings, 3-D models, found-object sculptures and paper sculptures.
I was born and educated in Amman, Jordan. Then, in 1987, I left behind the world I knew to have my eyes opened to a completely different world in Canada. Wide-open spaces, abundant greenery and flowers, lakes, streams and oceans became fresh, new inspirations.
My dream of being a full-time artist was delayed and repeatedly put aside by the need to make a consistent living and other pressures of life. Yet the dream remained alive and in 1999 I made the brave (and somewhat scary) commitment to practice my art and design full-time.
Seeking balance, harmony and beauty. It is an attitude, a viewpoint of life, that has many diverging expressions, from very personal preservations of beauty on canvas to commissioned paintings to helping clients realize their visions through interior design.
Notably, I never felt the need to be restricted to any one type of creative expression. Flowers frequently are the subjects of my paintings. Yet so are energetic abstracts using entirely different techniques, creating studies in texture and the interaction of colours which invite you to experience a connection through multiple levels of sensory stimulation, touch and sight.
Welcome to the world as I see it...
PS. My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.

I am inspired by the fleeting beauty of nature and flowers and do my best to capture that fragile beauty in a painting.
I use a variety of techniques such as acrylics and mixed media on canvas or wood panels, creating smooth and textured surfaces that invite you to reach out, touch and feel.
